My vet, who knew of my great sorrow over loosing Shiva, phoned me one day and asked.
"How do you feel about standard schnauzers?".
Well, at least it was a schnauzer!
"I know a 5 month old puppy, who needs a new home now, Do you want me to tell the breeder to visit you?"
Well, I could take a quick look.
Now, everybody knows, how it is, when you "just take a  look" at a little puppy.

Simba moved in.
Copenhagens Dream Girl
She was "only" a standard schnauzer, but, oh my god, she was lovely.
2 months later, Simba was joined by the giant schnauzer
Skovmosegaard Duchess.

Even though Shiva, my first giant, and Duchess had the same mum and dad, they vere wery different, in appearace, as well as in character, so the training of Duchess, was not quite so intense, as it was with Shiva.
Duchess did not care much what mom told her to do, and her "big sister" Simba, took on the responsibility to teaching her some good maners. Duchess loved her, and they could play for hours.
In stead of training, Duchess visitet a lot of shows. 9 in al, of which 7 was first-class.
Simba was a god sister and in spite of her size, she remained the leader of all my dogs, throughout her life. She loved Agility, and to run next to me, on my bicycle. She also learned to go by bus, but first after a lot of  vomiting and tolerant busdrivers.  She welcomed everyone, humans as well as dogs into our home. But most of all, she loved when her own puppys "came home" to visit on holidays or for a groom.

In spring 1993,
"Dusty" moves in. (Skovmosegaard Lemmy).

In fall, the same year, a short while after it was forbidden to dock the tails, my first two litters was born. One Giant Schnauzer litter, 4 males and 4 females, and one Standard Schnauzer litter, 1 male and 6 females. They were, of course, all with tails. It was relatively easy, to find good homes, for all the Standard Schnauzers, but with the Giant puppys, it was very difficult. The last one did not leave home, until she was 11 month old.
