Schnauzer

The Schnauzer, also known as Standard Schnauzer originates from southerm germany.
It was used in farm stables, because it felt very much at ease with the horses. Its aversion to rats and mice gave him the nickname “Rattler”.   

The Schnauzer has rough hair, is medium-sized, strong and heavy with a square build.

Typical characteristics are his lively temperament, coupled with a steady calmness. Typical are his good nature, his playfulness and his devotion to his master. He loves children, is incorruptible, alert, yet not noisy. 
Highly developed senses, intelligence, trainability, fearlessness, endurance and resistance to weather and diseases, provide the Schnauzer with all the requirements to be an outstanding family, guard and companion dog.
Standard shoulder height is allowed at 45 - 50 cm.
Males reach a sitze of between 47 to 50 cm and weighfrom 17 to 20 kg.
Bitches are somewhat smaller reaching 45 to 48 cm
and weighing from 15 to 18 kg.
